Have a question about Hum & Pop, or something is not working? Email us — a real person reads every message.
Email is our only support channel — there is no phone line, live chat or contact form, so writing to the address above is the fastest way to reach us. To help us answer on the first reply, please include your device model (for example iPhone 13 or iPad Air), your iOS or iPadOS version, and what you were doing when the problem happened.
What Hum & Pop does
Hum & Pop is a set of toys you play by touch. Circle the rim of a glass and it sings, pop a sheet of bubble wrap, squish and stretch slime, pour layers of coloured sand, slice bars of soap or draw with sand. Every toy answers with its own sound, and on iPhone you feel it too. You can play a soundscape on its own or under a toy — rain, ocean, fireplace, birdsong and more — mix several in the Ambient Mixer, and set a fade-out timer.
Six toys, eight soundscapes, one music pad and four colour families are free. A one-time Hum & Pop Pass purchase adds the rest. There are no ads, no subscription and no account. Every sound in the app was synthesized for it.
In-app purchase
Hum & Pop has one in-app purchase.
- Hum & Pop Pass One-time Adds 3 toys (Sand Cutting, Soap Bubbles and Texture Board), 12 soundscapes, 2 music pads and every colour family right away. Not a subscription — there is nothing to renew and nothing to cancel. The six free toys and the free sounds stay free.
The price is shown in your local currency before you buy — in the app and on the App Store purchase sheet. Payment is charged to your Apple Account at confirmation of purchase.

How do I restore a purchase?
Hum & Pop Pass is tied to the Apple Account that paid for it, so you can bring it back on another iPhone or iPad, or after reinstalling.
- Sign in to the device with the same Apple Account that made the purchase.
- Open Hum & Pop and tap Settings (the gear icon in the bottom bar).
- Under Hum & Pop Pass, tap Restore Purchases.
The same Restore Purchases button is also on the Hum & Pop Pass screen. If the app says no previous purchase was found, check that you are signed in with the Apple Account you bought with. If it still does not come back, email us and tell us roughly when you bought it — we will help you sort it out.
I can't hear anything — what should I check?
- Turn up the device volume with the volume buttons.
- In Hum & Pop, open Settings and check that Toy sounds is on and Toy volume is up. Under Volume per toy each toy has its own level, and inside every toy the Sound and haptics button has the same slider.
- If your iPhone is set to silent: with Play in silent mode on (the default) Hum & Pop still plays; with it off, silent mode mutes the app.
- If headphones or a speaker are connected, check that sound is going to them — disconnecting headphones pauses soundscapes until you tap Resume.
Can a soundscape keep playing when my screen locks?
Yes. Start a soundscape on the Sounds tab (or in the Ambient Mixer) and lock your device — it keeps playing. To stop that, turn off Keep soundscapes playing when locked in Settings. It needs Play in silent mode to be on. Toys always pause when you leave the app.
The fade-out timer (the moon button on Home and on the Sounds tab) stops everything after 15, 30, 45, 60 or 90 minutes: when it reaches zero, all sound fades out over 30 seconds.
Why don't I feel any vibration?
Haptics need an iPhone with a Taptic Engine — iPad has none, and the app says so on the Haptic Patterns screen. On iPhone, open Settings in Hum & Pop and check that Haptics is on, then raise Strength.
What are play days and colour blooms?
A play day is any day with at least a minute of play in a toy. Play days add up and are never lost; a missed day only restarts your streak. New colour families bloom on play days 2, 3, 5, 7, 10 and 14 and then work in every toy — choose them with the palette button inside a toy.
Classic, Clear, Ocean and Sunset are always available. Hum & Pop Pass opens every colour family right away.
Does Hum & Pop work offline?
Yes. Every toy, soundscape and colour you have unlocked works without an internet connection — all sounds are inside the app. You only need to be online to buy or restore Hum & Pop Pass, or to open the Support, Privacy Policy and Terms of Use pages from Settings.
How do I manage or cancel my subscription?
Hum & Pop does not have any subscriptions — its only in-app purchase is a one-time payment, so there is nothing recurring to cancel. If you are looking for a subscription from one of our other apps, here is where to manage it.
On iPhone or iPad:
- Open the Settings app.
- Tap your name at the top.
- Tap Subscriptions.
- Select the subscription, then tap Cancel Subscription.
You can also go straight there in a browser: Manage your Apple subscriptions.
Two things worth knowing. Cancelling stops the next renewal — you keep access until the end of the period you have already paid for. And deleting the app does not cancel a subscription: you have to cancel it in the store, or it keeps renewing.
How do I request a refund?
Refunds are handled by Apple, not by us. We never see your card details and we cannot issue or reverse a payment — only Apple can do that.
- Apple (App Store): go to reportaproblem.apple.com, sign in with your Apple Account, find the purchase and choose Request a refund.
If you are asking for a refund because something is broken, please email us as well. We would much rather fix the problem — and if we can, you may not need the refund at all.
Where is my data stored?
Your play days, stats, favourites, saved mixes, haptic patterns and settings are stored on your device, inside the app. There is no account to create and no password to remember, and nothing syncs between devices.
Hum & Pop collects no data: nothing about you or how you play is sent to us, and the app has no analytics, no crash reporting and no tracking. We do not sell data. Because the data lives on your device, deleting the app deletes it with the app.
To start your play days over, open Settings and tap Reset play days & stats. It sets play days, streaks and play statistics back to zero and cannot be undone. Your favourites, mixes, patterns, settings and your Hum & Pop Pass purchase are kept. More detail is in our Privacy Policy.
Is there anything for VoiceOver, motion or colour vision?
Yes. Buttons and sliders have VoiceOver labels. In Settings, under Accessibility, Reduce motion follows your system setting or can be switched on or off, and Colour-blind-safe colours switches to the Clear colour family and marks your choices with a check mark. Under Appearance you can pick System, Light or Dark.
The app crashes, or a feature does not work — what should I do?
Three quick things fix most of it:
- Update to the latest version of Hum & Pop in the App Store — the fix may already be out.
- Fully close the app and reopen it; if that does not help, restart your device.
- Check that your device has enough free storage.
Still broken? Email us at support@playtools.top and include:
- Your device model (for example iPhone 13 or iPad Air).
- Your iOS or iPadOS version.
- The app version — you can find it in Settings, under About.
- The toy or screen you were using and what you tapped just before it went wrong — and a screenshot if you have one.
That is usually enough for us to reproduce the problem straight away.
