Privacy Policy
LiveSight - AI Navigation
Live camera and voice assistant for blind and low-vision people. This policy covers this app only — each of our apps has its own.
Last updated: 9 October 2026
The short version
LiveSight has to see and hear to help you. Before the first live session it asks you once whether you agree. After you agree, and only while the live assistant is running, camera pictures, microphone audio and, if you allow it, your location go directly from your device to Google's Gemini API, using your own API key, and Google sends back speech and text. To show the weather, your coordinates go to Open-Meteo once per launch. You can use the app without a key (Look around first); then nothing is sent. LiveSight sends nothing to us — we never receive any of it.
There are no ads, no analytics, no crash reporting and no account. We never ask for your name or email address to use the app, and there is no developer-run server holding your content.
What we collect
Concretely, here is everything that is handled or sent anywhere. None of it is sent to us.
- What the camera sees and what you say, while the live assistant is running. Before the first session the app asks you once (Agree / Not now). Only after you agree, and only while the live assistant is running, the app sends the following to Google's Gemini API (Google LLC, generativelanguage.googleapis.com), using your own API key: camera pictures (1 to 4 per second depending on the mode, or the rate you choose in Settings, up to 10; downscaled to 512×288 JPEG images), microphone audio (16 kHz mono, not while muted), location updates (latitude and longitude, heading, speed and accuracy) if you allow location, the weather there, your language, speech speed and mobility-aid setting, the active mode's instructions and the app's replies to the assistant's actions. Google returns speech and text. Nothing is sent while you look around without a key, before you agree, or after you tap Stop. You can read the question again in Settings → Privacy, where Turn off AI sharing withdraws your agreement and ends a running session.
- How Google handles it. Google processes this data under the Gemini API terms you accepted when you created your key. On Google's unpaid (free) tier, Google says it may use submitted content and responses to improve its products, and that human reviewers may read them. See the Gemini API terms and Google's privacy policy. Cinderspire never receives any of it.
- Your API key. Tapping TEST sends your key to Google once to check it, and the live session uses it to connect to Google. Your key is stored only on your device and is sent only to Google.
- Your coordinates, for the weather. Once per app launch, when the app first gets your location (only if you allow location), it sends your device's coordinates to Open-Meteo (api.open-meteo.com) to fetch the current weather. No key or account is used.
- Your SOS text, only if you send it. When you use SOS with an emergency contact saved, the emergency text — with your location and a Google Maps link, when LiveSight has a location fix — is prepared in Apple's Messages app. It is sent only if you tap Send there. LiveSight does not send it or keep it.
- “Share my location”. The voice command “share my location” copies a Google Maps link of your current position to the clipboard. Nothing is sent.
- What stays on your device. Your Gemini API key, your emergency contacts (the names and phone numbers you type in), your settings, the Journal, your answer to the AI-sharing question with its date, and the counters for Apple's rating prompt are stored only on your device, inside the app. The Journal is a record of what LiveSight announced, kept for 90 days (up to 4,000 entries). It is never uploaded; it leaves your device only if you choose to share or export it through the iOS share sheet.
What we do not collect
We do not ask for, receive or store any of the following.
- an account, sign-up or login — there is none
- your name or email address
- advertising data or an advertising identifier — the app shows no ads
- tracking — the app does not track you
- analytics — the app includes no analytics service
- crash reports — the app includes no crash-reporting service
- your photo library — the app never opens it or saves to it
- your contacts book — emergency contacts are only the ones you type in
- payment card details
- anything on a server of ours — there is no developer server
There is no account, no sign-up and no login. What LiveSight stores stays on your device, and nothing it sends goes to us — so we have no way to look at it, and nothing to hand over or sell.
Payments
LiveSight is free and sells nothing, so it handles no payments. If you turn on Google's paid tier for your own key, that is between you and Google.
Third-party services
These are the only outside services the app talks to. Each has its own terms or privacy policy.
- Google Gemini API (Google LLC) — Receives camera pictures, microphone audio, location updates (if you allow location), the weather and your language, speech speed and mobility-aid setting, sent with your own API key only after you agree to the one-time question and only while the live assistant is running, and returns speech and text. It also checks your key when you tap TEST. Gemini API terms and Google privacy policy.
- Open-Meteo (api.open-meteo.com) — Receives your device's coordinates once per app launch and returns the current weather. Open-Meteo terms.
Your choices and rights
Because your data is on your device, you are the one holding it.
Permissions. LiveSight uses:
- Camera — the live view the assistant looks at.
- Microphone — your voice conversation with the assistant.
- Location, while using the app — the weather, roughly where you are for the assistant, and the SOS text. Optional.
- Motion and orientation — asked only when you tap Tap to enable compass or turn on Fall detection (Settings → Safety, off by default; it runs only during a live session).
Camera, microphone and location are asked for together, only after you have saved a key and agreed to the AI-sharing question; never while you look around without a key. LiveSight never asks for your photos, contacts, notifications, Bluetooth or Health data, does not track you, and does nothing while it is not on screen.
You can turn Camera, Microphone and Location off at any time in iOS Settings → LiveSight.
Deleting your data.
- In LiveSight, Settings → Privacy → Delete All My Data deletes everything the app stored (key, contacts, settings, Journal, AI-sharing answer) and returns it to the first screen.
- Settings → Privacy → Turn off AI sharing withdraws your agreement: a running session ends and nothing more is sent to Google until you agree again.
- Journal → Delete the Journal deletes the whole Journal at any time.
- Deleting the app removes everything it stored on your device.
- To stop your Gemini API key from working, delete it in Google AI Studio. In LiveSight, Settings → API clears it from the app.
Asking us anything. You may email support@playtools.top with any privacy question or request — including a request to access or delete data. LiveSight sends nothing to us, so the honest answer is usually that there is nothing on our side to retrieve or erase, and we will tell you so plainly. For what you sent to Google through the Gemini API, Google's terms and privacy policy linked above apply.
Children
LiveSight is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect data from them. If you believe a child has provided us with personal data, email support@playtools.top and we will look into it.
Changes to this policy
If the app changes in a way that affects this policy — a new feature that sends something online, or a service we stop using — we update this page and change the “Last updated” date at the top. The current version is always the one published here.
